Feeling Stressed? Top Tips to Stay Healthy This Christmas!

Try not to overfill your plate. If I find myself with too much food on mine, I use a simple mental trick—I draw an imaginary dividing line and only eat what’s on one side. This helps me stay mindful, avoid overindulging, and prevent that uncomfortable bloated feeling.

Top Tip

On non-celebration days, give your body a rest. I focus on light, protein-rich meals paired with plenty of vegetables. A Protein Smoothie or eggs are a perfect way to start the day, followed by soup for lunch and a salad with some added protein for dinner. If you’re looking for ideas, you’ll find lots of nourishing recipes on our recipe page.

Supplement Regime I always look forward to Christmas and feel incredibly grateful to have our family close by. It’s one of those rare and treasured times of the year when we all come together, step away from work, and simply enjoy relaxing and celebrating as a family. These moments mean the world to me. I realise how lucky we are, and I cherish every second of the laughter, love, and togetherness.

Quite a few of you have asked about my routine for staying healthy during the festive season, so I thought I’d share what works for me. Here’s my go-to approach for staying balanced and energised throughout the holidays. I’d love to hear about your strategies—how do you plan to stay healthy this season? If you have any tips or tricks, please feel free to share them with us!

Food

Food choices over the holidays are all about finding the right approach. I’m fortunate to love healthy food, but when I do want a treat, I make sure it’s something I’ll truly enjoy. If we’re out and the food isn’t what I’d normally choose, I don’t stress—I simply go with the best options for me. The key is not to starve yourself throughout the day in anticipation of a big event. Instead, try to pace yourself and stay balanced.

In the mornings, I prioritise protein. Most days, I start with a Protein Smoothie—it’s quick, delicious, and keeps me fuelled. But on Christmas Day, Russ always whips up his special version of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, which is such a treat!

Top Tip

Staying on top of my supplement routine is important to me—it helps keep my energy levels high and supports my immune system in fighting off germs and viruses. I start my day with a Protein Smoothie, combined with Collagen Shots and H3O Hydration for an extra boost. It’s my little morning ritual to feel nourished and energised.

On the capsule front, I take Re-set capsules to help balance blood sugar and support my metabolism, Cellular Calm Complex to ease stress, and Regenerate to boost my energy levels and keep my mind sharp—essential for managing all the preparation that goes into the big holiday lunch!

In the evening, I follow up with another Collagen Shots, H3O Night Repair, and Immune Complex to help fend off colds and flu—especially important during the festive season. This simple yet effective routine helps me feel my best and stay on top of everything during this busy time of year.

 Exercise

When I wake up, I start with a few short yoga stretches to loosen up. Then, rain or snow, it’s time for a walk on the moors with our dog, Charlie. He’s full of mischief—especially during the holiday season! We have to keep him far away from the Christmas tree because he can’t resist diving in to grab presents.

Getting out into nature first thing in the morning really sets me up for the day. It clears my mind, boosts my energy, and helps me feel centred. I don’t stress if I can’t make it to the gym because the walk is such a great way to stay active. That said, I keep some weights at home and try to fit in a short session whenever I can during the holiday period. It’s all about finding small, manageable ways to stay active while still enjoying the season!

Alcohol

I don’t drink much alcohol throughout the year, so I’ll be taking it easy over Christmas. That said, my favourite indulgence is a glass or two of champagne. On Christmas Day, it’s a tradition to enjoy a morning Bucks Fizz with a twist—we add a splash of Cointreau and freshly squeezed oranges, which makes it feel even more special.

To stay balanced, I make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to help dilute the effects of any alcohol.

I’ll also be having H3O Hydration to keep my electrolyte levels topped up, so I can stay feeling fresh and energised throughout the celebrations.

Top Tip

Have H3O Hydration with Collagen Shots before you go to bed to restore electrolytes and fend off that morning after feeling.  Collagen Shots contains glycine, an amino acid which helps to process alcohol in the liver. If you still feel a little sluggish top up with another H3O Hydration in the morning.

Sleep

Trying to keep to your normal routine for sleep is almost impossible over Christmas but whatever time you go to bed try to get up at the same time that you normally would. This helps to support your circadian rhythms and try not to eat too late at night. Eating triggers insulin, which acts as a signal to your brain to stay awake and make it harder to fall asleep.

Top Tip - And Breathe…

With 14 of us sitting around the table at Christmas lunch, I always try to take a moment to still my mind with a few deep breaths. It’s a simple but effective way to reset and stay present amidst the festive chaos.

I hope my tips can help you this season, but I’d really love to hear yours too. Please share them on social media or send us an email—I’d really like to know how you approach the holidays!
