Vitamin B6 Benefits

Science

Vitamin B6, or Pyridoxine, contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, normal function of the immune system, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It also affects the normal functioning of a number of different body functions, including cysteine synthesis, energy-yielding metabolism, the nervous system, homocysteine metabolism, protein and glycogen metabolism, psychological function and red blood cell formation.

What is Vitamin B6?

Vitamin B6 is one of the eight B vitamins and is a water-soluble essential nutrient. The human body cannot produce vitamin B6. We, therefore, need to consume it through plants or other animals.

Vitamin B6 has six vitamers, which are chemically similar compounds. These vitamers serve as coenzymes for over 200 essential reactions in the body, mainly related to glucose, lipid and amino acid metabolism.

Vitamin B6 benefits

Consuming the right amount of vitamin B6 provides the body with a host of benefits. As it takes part in so many of your body’s functions, ingesting enough vitamin B6 is important for optimal health and can even help prevent and treat diseases.

Vitamin B6 is needed to create serotonin in the brain. Serotonin elevates your mood, making vitamin B6 an excellent mood booster. Vitamin B6 supplements are often taken during PMS, as it can help to reduce depression and anxiety.

Another great vitamin B6 benefit is that it promotes a stronger immune system and better blood circulation. Studies have also shown that Pyridoxine helps to reduce nausea in pregnant women, alleviating the symptoms of morning sickness.

How much Vitamin B6 a day?

For optimal health, adults under 50 years of age should consume approximately 1.3 milligrams of vitamin B6. Men over 50 should take in 1.7, women over 50 should get 1.5, while pregnant women should consume 1.9 milligrams of vitamin B6 daily.

Note that many foods contain vitamin B6. In supplementary form, you should consume at most 1,000 mg of vitamin B6 daily. Our Collagen Shots include 0.4 mg of vitamin B6, complementing your natural intake perfectly.

What Rejuvenated products include Vitamin B6?

Our award-winning Collagen Shots include vitamin B6 to support your body’s functions and health. Our Female Hormone Support supplement also contains vitamin B6, as this essential vitamin helps alleviate the symptoms of PMS, perimenopause and menopause. And vitamin B6 is also included in our new Cellular Calm Complex too, which hosts a range of other minerals and vitamins that will improve your cell health.

As our capsules contain several ingredients, we don’t recommend that you take them while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
