8 reasons why you may be feeling tired

Health, Body, Healthy Ageing, Science

Is feeling fatigued having an impact on your daily life? With our frantic, hectic, frazzled lives, more and more of us are starting to lose sight of how it feels to both look and feel great.

Whether you’re hitting snooze on your alarm in the morning, suffering from bad skin, battling constant brain fog, or finding your mood hits endless highs and lows, then you’re not alone. Many of us suffer too, yet what can we do? How do we go about changing it?

First things first, please know that you can feel better. It doesn’t have to be this way, and you don’t have to accept low energy and vigour as your ‘norm’. Instead, you can make changes and reap the rewards, bringing energy and vitality springing into your life.

Of course, some of us will simply put any problems down to our busy schedules, while others will even brush it off, blaming their age!

Yet, while many of these issues can be caused by stress, there may be other problems lying within. For starters, many of us don’t realise just how much our diets can affect our energy levels, as well as our skin and even our sleep. In fact, by transforming your diet and embracing healing whole foods and rainbows of fruit and veg, you’ll often find skin problems, headaches, PMS or fatigue will melt away.

Want to learn more? Here are some of the most common signs that you may be in need of a diet overhaul:

1) You Struggle with Sleep

If you ever find yourself tossing and turning well into the night, then it could be a sign that you need to take a good, hard look at your diet. Caffeinated or alcoholic drinks can disrupt our sleep cycles, while foods we’re particularly sensitive to can also send our sleep out of sync. The best way to find out whether or not your sleep (or lack of) is diet-related is by trying an elimination diet.

2) Feeling Fatigued Gives You Have Brain Fog

Come 3pm, most of us will hit that energy slump. Yet, if you find you often have a foggy brain or struggle to concentrate, then we bet you’ve never considered that food could be the issue. Although it’s not the problem in all cases (you could simply just need a good night’s sleep!), food allergies, intolerances or diets high in alcohol, caffeine and refined carbs can all lead to brain fog.

3) You Suffer from Bad Breath

Find yourself reaching for the mints mid-afternoon? As well as being a problem with your gums (it’s always worth chatting to a dentist first!), bad breath could also signal imbalances within the gut, or even a yeast infection. For a happy, healthy gut, try eating plenty of prebiotics and probiotics, enjoying high-fibre foods (our Protein Smoothies are full of fibre and delicious prebiotics), and cutting out refined carbs.

4) You Have PMS

Hitting that dreaded time of the month can leave us feeling blue, irritable and exhausted. Yet, if you do suffer with PMS, then help us at hand. It’s worth adding certain foods for hormonal balance – healthy fats such as avocados, nuts, flaxseed and chia seeds, or even our Aliol omega-3 capsules, all feed happy hormones –  and cutting out sugary, processed foods which can make you feel fatigued.

5) You Have Problem Skin

If you suffer from bags, puffy eyes, redness, eczema, dryness or acne, then these can all be signs that your gut is imbalanced. Again, try eliminating foods which you may be intolerant to, as well as cutting out processed foods and inflammatory dairy and sugar (which often trigger acne). It may also be worthwhile taking a skin supplement, such as our award-winning Collagen Shots, which can plump up skin and leave it looking fresh, vibrant and youthful.

 6) Your Body Aches

When we have a poor diet, it can often cause inflammation in the body, which leads to aches and pains in our muscles, joints and even bones. To feel better than ever before, pile your plates with beautiful, nourishing whole foods, avoid white breads and flours, skip the sugar, and eat plenty of healthy fats and fruit and veg. You also might want to add a magic sprinkle of anti-inflammatory turmeric to your foods and H3O Night Repair is packed full of antioxidants.

7) You Feel Fatigued

A lack of bounce or vitality is often linked to our food, and could even mean that we’re timing our meals badly. If you skip breakfast or lunch, or often head for the vending machine at work, then try to be aware that these could all trigger leave you feeling tired or even put you in a bad mood. Try to eat regular meals, and make them as nourishing as possible! Regenerate is specifically formulated to help combat fatigue. The capsules contain 8potent plant molecules including a special form of Vitamin B3., NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide). Our energy levels decrease as we age. One reason for this is the decline of NAD+ a powerful molecule in every cell. NMN supports NAD+ to more youthful levels1.

8) You’re Always Sick

Many people don’t realise that much of our immune system lies within our guts. Because of this, a poor diet can also mean a poor immune system, leading us to catch every a cough and cold imaginable. If you are often ill, or simply can’t seem to shift colds, then consider eating more healing produce, and focusing on nutrient-rich foods.
