As a proud member of the Rejuvenated Team, I can tell you that we are passionate about beauty from within. Our beauty supplement range is sold worldwide and has kept us incredibly busy during our first 15 years, so much so we have now doubled the size of our team and have a dedicated Account Manager (that’s me by the way) for our UK Salons, Clinics and Stockists.
During our search for a new stockist in the Leeds / Bradford area we spoke to Lindsey McEnroe, MD of True You Health / True You Skin Clinics. Lindsey is also keen to look after her clients from the inside as well as the outside, so we knew her new salon in Calverley located just outside of Leeds, was a perfect match.
While discussing the opening of her new salon, Lindsey shared the story of one of her clients and friends, Donna Corden. Donna was tragically diagnosed with Necrotising Fasciitis (NF) in 2017 aged just 46, after falling on her oven. NF is a rare but serious bacterial infection that affects the tissue beneath the skin and surrounding muscles and organs. It is sometimes called the ‘flesh-eating disease’. Donna had lifesaving surgery resulting in the removal of the left side of her face to eradicate the deadly bacteria. A skin graft from her thigh has been used to rebuild and reconstruct this side of her face. After undergoing pioneering surgery at Leeds hospitals she is embarking on the next part of the journey to restore and improve her scaring.
Lindsey and the team from True You Skin Clinics are working toward helping Donna on her path to recovery. Dr Patrick Tracy in Dublin has been kindly offering his services and expert advice and Donna has now been referred to a surgeon in London. This next step will cost over £25k and the team are working together to raise as much as possible towards this. To date they have raised over £11k.
Last Saturday was True You Skin Clinic’s launch event, and as Account Manager it was my pleasure to attend. I was privileged to meet Donna and hear her story personally. It is sad and yet so inspiring, she is a very special lady who manages to find the positives in her situation. She finds great comfort with her 12-year-old daughter Summer, who helps with daily treatment.
Next week Donna, Summer and Lindsey are off to the JustGiving Awards in London. The awards recognise the hard work of people who want to help others and the strength and perseverance of those going through extreme situations in life.
Unfortunately, voting is now closed but I know that I speak on behalf of Kathryn and Rob and all the team at Rejuvenated Ltd, in wishing Donna and her daughter all the very best of luck.
